The Road To Victory

The Road To Victory

This road to victory which began over 200 years ago started in Africa when people were taken from their lands and brought to this country in chains and irons to become slaves to a people they did not know or even understood.  This road to victory was paved on the backs of those who worked the fields, helped to build this country from the ground, and have left their blood, sweat and tears in the grounds of these the United States of America.

This victory was cemented by those who marched and prayed with Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. during the Civil Rights marches while being beaten, hosed, and locked in prisons.  Truly this has been a triumph for all people who have seen, witnessed and felt the strong arms of oppression.

Yes, this has been a long walk to victory for black America and people of color in these United States.  It could not have been done without the help of God who took the blinders off the eyes of those who have been in power for many years, and allowed us to see and feel the pains that so many of us have been feeling for years.  Without God loosening his wrap of protection on the United States for a while, tearing down the strongholds, and hearing and answering the prayers of the crying mothers and fathers who have lost their loved ones, their homes and jobs this would not have taken place.

This road to victory belongs to all people regardless of race who felt the need to come together as a united nation of Americas and to vote their hearts rather than their skin color.  It belongs to the Hispanics who reached beyond their culture to embrace Black America, the Whites who truly understood the need to put aside their prejudices and allow a new dawn to be born.

The sweet smell of victory belongs to each of us who seriously want to see change come to this Country for all mankind.  It is a new beginning, a new dawn and we must embrace it with hope, love and compassion for one another.

It is our time to make a difference not only here in the United States but throughout the world.  This victory does not belong to one people, but all people as we move to become truly one nation under God, indivisible, With Liberty and Justice for all.  We must not just talk change, but we should walk change, and undergo the change of heart and mind so that the road to victory will have true meaning and purpose.  God has given us an opportunity, opened the doors once again for us, and we must grab this opening and not squander it.  It will not be easy, but we must try, and we must succeed, and as Barack Obama said in his victory speech, “YES WE CAN!”

Remember to continue to pray for this Country and those who are still feeling oppression throughout the world.  Pray for Obama and his family that God gives him wisdom, and that God will tears down the walls of opposition, and that He will breathe on the United States of America that we become once again a people who are thought of around the world as people of compassion and love for others.

This is our finest hour and our opportunity to bring healing and love throughout this land, and around the world. Do not waste it, for we can change this world, YES WE CAN, God Bless Us all and God Bless America.
